One-Bowl Tuna Salad

Some recipes are so simple they barely count as cooking, and this tuna salad is exactly that. It’s the kind of thing you can throw together in five minutes flat, with just a tin of tuna and a few bits from the fridge. Perfect for lunch, or even a quick no-fuss dinner when you can’t face turning on the oven.

The best part is it all happens in one bowl. Less mess, less washing up, more time to actually eat or watch the latest movie online.

Ingredients

  • 1 tin tuna in spring water or olive oil, drained
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (or Greek yoghurt for a lighter version)
  • ½ cup sweetcorn (tinned or frozen & thawed)
  • ½ cucumber, diced
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

Grab a medium bowl, add the drained tuna, and break it up with a fork. Stir through the mayo, then fold in the sweetcorn and cucumber. Season with salt and pepper, give it one last mix, and that’s it, you’re done!

Serve it on toast, in a wrap, over a bed of lettuce, or just eat it straight out of the bowl (no judgement here 😀 ).

Variations & Substitutions

  • Swap the mayo: Use sour cream, hummus, or mashed avocado for a different twist.
  • Add crunch: Toss in chopped celery or red onion.
  • Make it spicy: A dash of hot sauce or chilli flakes does wonders.
  • Boost the protein: Add a boiled egg or some chickpeas.
  • Switch the flavour: Try tuna in chilli oil or add a squeeze of lemon juice for freshness.

It’s quick, protein packed, and endlessly flexible, the ultimate lazy but satisfying meal. Keep a tin of tuna in the cupboard and you’ll never be stuck for lunch again.
